The Program Officer – Youth in Tourism is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs that empower young people to participate in and contribute to the tourism sector. This role focuses on developing youth skills, promoting employment opportunities, and supporting sustainable tourism initiatives through partnerships, training, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan, coordinate, and implement youth-focused tourism programs and activities
•Develop training workshops, capacity-building sessions, and mentorship opportunities for young people
•Collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, tourism businesses, and educational institutions
•Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring goals and impact are achieved
•Conduct research and identify trends related to youth employment and tourism development
•Support project reporting, documentation, and communication materials
•Organize events, campaigns, and networking activities for youth engagement
•Ensure programs align with sustainable tourism practices and policies

Requirements

•Proven work experience in youth development, tourism, or similar role
•Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Development Studies, or a related field
•At least 1–3 years of experience in program/project management or youth development
•Strong understanding of the tourism industry and youth engagement strategies
•Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
•Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple tasks
•Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management tools
•Good command of English (both written and spoken)
•Passion for youth empowerment and sustainable tourism
•Team spirit, strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
•Good time-management skills
